How to Save Seeds

The past couple of weeks I have been saving seeds from my herbs so that I can propagate them again next year! Many of you bought seeds or plant starts from me this spring (or attended the seeding workshop!) and grew your own herbal tea plants this summer. I thought you might enjoy learning how to save the seeds from what you grew!

Saving seeds sparks my imagination in a wild way, because when I hold a seed in my hand, I think about how it is the great-great-great x 104 grandbaby of a plant that lived long ago, in a different part of the world, in another time. I think about where the herb is native to, what it was known to be used for, its earliest recorded history, and I wonder… Was this Chamomile seed a direct descendant of a Chamomile plant that anointed King Ramesses II for burial? Did Gandhi brush up against the ancestor of this Tulsi seed?

It’s a wonder I get any work done. Without further ado, I present you with: How to Save Seeds!
